We are looking for a talented Flavor Analytical Scientist who is very experienced in flavor analysis techniques such as Gas Chromatography – Olfactometry (GC-O) and mass spectrometry to join our Flavor Research & Creation Team. This scientist will have extensive knowledge in all aspects of flavor analysis and sensory evaluation of products. We are looking for someone who knows how to design critical experiments and interpret data, which leads to new insights in designing consumer preferred beverages. This individual will leverage sensory/consumer data with analytical to draw key insights and provide directional feedback to both the R&D and product development teams. In addition, the individual will be responsible for support of flavor stability testing across multiple product categories. This opportunity provides the ideal candidate with playing a critical role to influence flavor creation and product development initiatives within the company. The individual will work on multi-functional teams and have the advantage to both contribute and learn from others within the organization.

      Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:

The individual will serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on aroma active compounds within the Beverage Category: Ability to correlate flavor compounds with sensory and consumer data, understanding of flavor compound stability, essential oil chemistry (citrus), extraction and separation techniques for flavor analysis, and an in-depth knowledge of odor detection thresholds, and aroma descriptors for volatile molecules.

      • Leverage flavor analysis, GC-O specifically, to identify key aroma active compounds in beverages and flavor ingredients.
      • Apply quantitative flavor analysis methodologies to enable reconstitution and omission experiments.
      • Work collaboratively with flavorists, product developers, and sensory scientist to develop consumer preferred beverages.
      • Independent thinker who can propose and design experiments to test hypothesis which lead to innovative solutions and practices in the flavor area.
      • Provide robust analytical data that can be leveraged across our multiple workstreams, including flavor stability.
      • Initiate and manage collaborations with external partners to build knowledge and grow flavor platform.
