Job Description
Analytical Research Scientist, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Winter Haven, FL. Responsible for day-to-day facility technical support. Support analytical functions in support of R&D, Quality Control and Operations. Develop analytical methods and protocols and help within the group on developing analytical needs. Serve as primary operator for non-GC-FID analysis, including training of technicians for back-up capabilities. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibrations for various analytical instruments. Long term prioritized technical support through multidisciplinary team participation. Staying abreast of developing trends and methodologies as they apply to high end analytical analysis. Distill and extract Pilot Plant scale.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemistry, Engineering (any), Food, Sensory, or a related field, and two (2) year of related work experience.
Must have two (2) year of experience with/in:
• Conducting laboratory experiments and using scientific methods to make scientific observations;
• Preparing and analyzing essential oil sample using LC-MSMS and GC-MSMS methodologies for the determination of agricultural residue content;
• Utilizing research instrumentation to generate results;
• Using laboratory software for data analysis, reporting, and equipment operations; and
• Understanding of routine analytical and track analysis in a commercial laboratory.
