      Join Our Payer Strategy & Contracting Division

      Our PSC Division guides clients through payer strategy development, reimbursement analysis and design, contract negotiations, and other strategic and operational issues affecting commercial and government revenue streams. As part of our team, you’ll help our clients optimize their managed care contract portfolios and develop successful value-based reimbursement strategies.

      PSC engagements include work with inpatient, outpatient, professional, behavioral health, post-acute, and ancillary providers, as well as payers. We assist clients primarily in the three areas below.

      Contracting and Reimbursement

      Our Contracting and Reimbursement practice is an industry leader in healthcare payment reform and accountable care strategies for large, complex healthcare organizations, including major health systems and provider-owned health plans. We help our clients:

      • Develop innovative payment approaches.
      • Negotiate contracts.
      • Devise reimbursement strategies.
      • Improve revenues.

      Value- and Risk-Based Payment Programs

      We offer our clients comprehensive value- and risk-based payment program development services, including planning, implementing, and optimizing value-enhancing care models. Common projects include:

      • Value-based readiness assessments and payment design.
      • Care model and reimbursement strategy.
      • Medicare Shared Savings Program, Accountable Care Organization (ACO) REACH, or commercial ACO development.
      • Clinically integrated or regional affiliate network development.
      • Assistance with Medicaid managed care program participation.
      • Patient-centered medical home transformation.
      • Population health service organization establishment.
      • Support for participation in grant-funded or governmental programs.

      Payer Services

      Our Payer Services practice advises traditional and provider-owned insurance companies in areas such as:

      • Commercial insurance.
      • Medicare Advantage.
      • Medicaid managed care.
      • Third-party administrator services.
      • Provider network performance.

      Your Opportunity with ECG: Analytics Manager

      As a Payer Strategy & Contracting analytics manager at ECG, you’ll be an important part of our consulting team. Not only will you partner with some of the industry’s best to reach your highest goals, but you will also make a real difference in people’s lives and grow personally and professionally while doing so.       Your Responsibilities May Include

      • Gathering and synthesizing data from various sources (e.g., national surveys, proprietary research, client interviews, industries, markets).
      • Preparing analyses related to provider claims data, price transparency, and other market data sources.
      • Building flexible, dynamic, and scalable models to analyze reimbursement terms, project the impact of contract changes, and forecast market changes, preparing scenarios for consulting efforts related to delivery and business development.
      • Enhancing existing models and capabilities built using SQL, primarily with some use of Python in certain models or scenarios.
      • Performing complex analyses on big data, including cleaning, preparing, and interpreting.
      • Communicating market insights to the Payer Strategy & Contracting consulting team and supporting business development efforts.
      • Partnering with the Payer Strategy & Contracting consulting team to gather requirements related to data analytics.
      • Developing, configuring, and maintaining interfaces to exchange data among Power BI, SQL databases, and other cloud-based applications.
      • Developing new and innovative methodologies and approaches.
      • Providing analytics and contract modeling education and training to PSC consultants.

      Our Expectations of You

      • Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry
      • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics, business, or a related discipline that relies heavily on critical thinking, logic, and math; master’s degree a plus
      • Five-plus years of hospital reimbursement experience required
      • Five-plus years of payer contract modeling required
      • Prior work experience in healthcare data analytics using databases, SQL, and/or Python required
      • Prior work experience in healthcare consulting preferred
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
      • Comfort with manipulating and synthesizing large datasets required
      • Strong written and verbal presentation skills
      • Excellent organizational skills

      Job Locations

      • Preferred locations: Atlanta, Boston, or Washington, DC
      • Other locations: Chicago
      • Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in office

      The estimated base salary range for this job is $125,000 $130,000 annually. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects ECG’s pay-for-performance philosophy. The job is also eligible to participate in ECG’s benefit plans, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) matching program; unlimited PTO; and other wellness programs.
