  Job Description

  Working in a leadership role in the CTV Edmonton Newsroom, this multi-talented and experienced individual will report to the Director, News & Public Affairs and be responsible for:

  • Anchoring the 11:30pm newscast.
  • Occasionally anchoring other newscasts as required, including but not limited to CTV Morning Live, CTV News at Noon, CTV News at 5 and CTV News at 6
  • Generating strong story ideas.
  • Producing and writing for the 11:30pm newscast.
  • Representing CTV at community and charity events, and making various public appearances.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include interviewing or reporting live.

  Critical Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience anchoring a newscast.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Broadcasting or Journalism.
  • Knowledge of television production procedures, terminology and equipment capabilities.
  • Experience with breaking news. Strong interviewing and live skills.
  • Exceptional organization, leadership, concentration and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to react quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision-making.
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Adobe and Velocity editing software.
  • Knowledge of Gateway and iNews

  Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
