Position Responsibilities:
· Observes safety and compliance guidelines when operating specialized equipment or performing specific routines/processes. Follows appropriate departmental standards and practices.
· Communicates and documents any unusual occurrences or variations from routine operations to the supervisor.
· Performs general maintenance on related equipment or processes as assigned.
· Follows the national patient safety goals as required.
· Checks, maintains and prepares all related anesthesia equipment according to policy and instructions for use, including but not limited to anesthesia machines, EKG monitors, defibrillators, etc.
· Cleans, checks and stocks all anesthesia carts daily.
· Reports any deficiency or fault in operation immediately to supervisor/anesthesiologist.
· Maintains a clean and orderly anesthesia supply room at all times.
· Assists anesthesia personnel as delegated including but not limited to blocks, central lines, etc.
· Inspects all equipment and reports any deficiency to supervisor and Biomed.
· Orders and maintains appropriate supply inventory.
· Troubleshoots anesthesia machines when necessary.
· All other tasks as related to the position’s duties.
Qualifications:
· BLS required
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Completion of an ASATT approved accredited program preferred
· 1 year healthcare experience preferred
