What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with tissue sample collection and storage for research purposes
- Perform RNA extraction and quality checks on samples
- Participate in necropsies and biopsies for tissue collection
- Work directly with dairy calves and dairy cows in a research setting
- Maintain meticulous records of sample processing and results
What is Required (Qualifications):
- At least 1 year of molecular work experience, including RNA extraction and quality checks, PCR, and RT-qPCR
- Basic knowledge of animal tissue processing for RNA work
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs of feed or lab equipment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with large animals, particularly dairy cattle
- Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing technologies
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
