- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
- Facilitate collaboration with team members to support the students’ academic, behavioral, emotional, and social needs
- Ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to learning while building a positive rapport with students
- Implement positive behavioral and effective classroom management strategies
- Communicate regularly with students, families, staff, and administrators regarding student matters
- Communicate with professionalism in all required areas
- Collaborate with the special education curriculum leader and district leadership to understand yearly roles and responsibilities as dictated by student need
- Understanding of special education process, procedures, and compliance
- Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy
- Excellent teaching and classroom management skills
- Experience and knowledge of various behavior management techniques to support students’ emotional and social goals
- Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with students, families, staff, and, administration
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Exhibit general knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Effective oral and written communication
- Bachelor's Degree
- PA teaching certificate in Special Education (K-12 or 7-12)
Position: Anticipated 1.0 Special Education Teacher - Per-diem
Location: Upper St. Clair High School (Grades 9-12)
Anticipated Start Date: April thru LDTR.
Summary :
Provide special education services through the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaborate and communicate with students, families, and staff to support the unique needs of learners.
