      POSITION: Family and Consumer Science Teacher BUILDING: Lamberton Middle School REQUIREMENTS: PA Family and Consumer Science Certification; Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Certification; Act 34 Criminal Clearance; Act 151 Child Line Clearance; Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting Security Clearances; Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release and SafeSchools Training AVAILABLE: 2023-2024 School Year Family Consumer Science Teacher Responsible for teaching theory and project-based learning to middle school students in grades 06-08 in the areas of Family and Consumer Science (FCS). All courses stress an outcome-based philosophy with an emphasis placed on practical, hands-on experiences, projects, labs, and activities. The teacher will be responsible for teaching and developing lesson plans and updating curriculum. Courses Taught: Note: hands-on labs in all areas will be used to create authentic learning opportunities for all students. 6th Grade FCS introduces CASD students to basic family and consumer science topics such as nutrition, food safety and sanitation, textile care, and sewing skills. 7th grade FCS helps CASD students expand knowledge and skills learned in 6th grade FCS and introduces the topics of child development and babysitting. 8th Grade FCS allows CASD students to further explore and expand on the topics and skills learned in 6th and 7th grade FCS, in the areas of parenting, nutrition and food preparation, and sewing. To teach this program you must hold through the Pennsylvania Department of Education an Instructional Certification, 5600 in Family Consumer Science K-12.
