      Reporting directly to the Director of Finance of the Maryland Medicine Comprehensive Insurance Program, the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) will be detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of AP and AR functions of a Medical Malpractice Insurance program, providing leadership to support staff, and assisting with accounting tasks, including audit preparation and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
      • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
      • Experience with Insurance accounting a plus
      • Experience with AP/AR, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting
      • Industry experience in medical malpractice or insurance accounting is a plus
      • Strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles
      • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
      • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

      Total Rewards

      The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
