What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign, monitor, and evaluate CPT and HCPCS Level II procedure codes for grouping into Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APCs)
- Monitor outpatient APC reimbursement for all facilities in the Central Florida South Division
- Resolve APC edits to ensure accurate reimbursement under OPPS
- Assist with monthly quality reviews, RAC, and post-payment audits
- Collaborate with ancillary departments and revenue cycle team to ensure timely billing of clean claims
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of proven outpatient coding experience
- RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator certification
- RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician certification
- CCS - Certified Coding Specialist certification
- CPC - Certified Professional Coder certification
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional experience in training outpatient coders on coding and payment updates
- Familiarity with EPIC management billing system
- Knowledge of regulatory updates related to coding and payment
- Experience in developing strategies to reduce claim denials and maximize reimbursements
