- Evaluate, diagnose, and repair a wide range of appliances (laundry, kitchen, refrigeration).
- Recommend and order required parts for effective repairs.
- Complete and submit all paperwork (repair reports, parts usage, etc.) in a timely manner per company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work environment.
- Provide professional and courteous service at all customer touchpoints.
- Use service manuals and bulletins to perform accurate diagnostics.
- Communicate repair findings clearly to customers and escalate concerns as needed.
- Follow all health and safety standards and maintain equipment in safe working conditions.
- Support junior apprentices and actively engage in training opportunities.
- A Appliance Service Technician Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) or enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program through SkilledTradesBC.
- A certificate from an accredited institution (e.g., Kwantlen Polytechnic University, BCIT) if applicable.
- A Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
- “C” Gas Ticket issued by Technical Safety BC (required for gas appliance repair).
- CFC/ODS (Refrigerant Handling) Certification, from a recognized provider (e.g., HRAI or BCIT).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing major appliance brands.
- A proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with sealed system repairs (refrigeration units) is an asset.
- Exceptional communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
