      Job Summary

      The Application Engineer will support product development, customer deployment, and services for SmartFactory® and SmartFactory Rx® automation products. The role involves working on manufacturing execution, factory performance, equipment performance, and advanced process control. Additionally, the candidate will drive continuous improvement, enhance knowledge base management, and implement efficiencies using AI, machine learning, automation, and optimization.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Develop and support equipment automation (EA) solutions integrated with key factory and business systems.

      • Work with product development teams to create new solutions addressing market demands.

      • Coordinate with customer IT teams to deploy, configure, and develop EA solutions.

      • Present technical information to customer , including managers and technical contributors.

      • Conduct technical interviews to assess project requirements.

      • Perform software installations at customer locations.

      • Create and implement EA application training and demonstrations.

      • Conduct validation, root cause analysis, and defect triaging.

      • Perform escape analysis and isolate failures to the correct component.

      • Manage project tasks and ensure timely deliverables with high quality.

      • Report and track product failures in test repositories and bug trackers.

      • Improve operations through methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5-Whys.

      • Respond to customer RFPs and requirements collection.

      • Develop and deliver statements of work (SOW) and cost estimates.

      • Ensure compliance with defined SLAs and validation standards.

      • Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions.

      Required Qualifications

      • Experience in semiconductor, solar, display, or PCB manufacturing as an equipment automation developer.

      • Strong proficiency in Visual Studio, C#, .NET, databases, and SQL.

      • Experience with SECS/GEM protocol and SEMI automation standards.

      • Familiarity with factory automation systems such as MES, Recipe Management (RMS), and Advanced Process Control (APC).

      • Expertise in working with enterprise automation software on Windows or Unix platforms with Oracle databases.

      • Ability to estimate effort, time, and resource dependencies for tasks.

      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience explaining technical and business concepts to senior management.

      • Background in AI, machine learning, and automation for process optimization.

      • Knowledge of CPU/GPU architecture.

      Certifications

      • ISTQB or Client GAMMA certifications (preferred).

      Certification: Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) v4.0
