      About the Role:
      We are currently seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Applications Engineering Lab Technician for a 1-year contract to support our Application Engineering Team at our Brampton facility. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in a lab setting while gaining exposure to our products, testing processes, and industry standards. Possibility of contract extension based on business needs.

      Key Responsibilities

      In this role, youu2019ll support lab operations, product evaluation, and technical investigations by:

      • Becoming proficient with Victaulicu2019s products , including couplings, valves, fittings, grooving tools, and related systems.
      • Conducting troubleshooting and performance assessments on new tools to ensure readiness for field deployment.
      • Inspecting and evaluating returned tools and components under warranty claims to determine functionality and root cause issues.
      • Operating and maintaining pipe grooving tools , performing grooving tasks as required.
      • Assisting with lab testing and product demonstrations , including hydrostatic, flex, bending moment, and air testing.
      • Maintaining and calibrating lab equipment; recording results, logs, charts, and reports.
      • Supporting inventory control of lab materials, organizing incoming parts and managing warranty returns.
      • Ensuring the lab is clean, organized, and in line with Lean practices and company safety protocols.
      • Participating in safety reviews and adhering to all health and safety procedures.

      Qualifications

      • Associate degree or technical diploma preferred ; minimum of 3 years of industry experience required.
      • Strong mechanical aptitude and high attention to detail.
      • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics , perform shop math, and use precision instruments.
      • Physically able to lift within OSHA-approved limits and work on ladders or scaffolds.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other software applications for data entry and reporting.
      • Strong communication and organizational skills .
      • Ability to take both verbal and written instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
