- Undertake daily room and equipment preparation.
- Carry out reviews and repairs of hearing aid systems at repair/follow-up clinics.This would include otoscopic examination of the ears, impression taking, repairing/reprogramming/replacing NHS digital hearing aids whilst working to national and locally agreed operating procedures. Care will be provided under the guidance and supervision of qualified staff as needed.
- Responsible for stock control and the maintenance of adequate levels of consumables in designated areas of the department.
- To maintain accurate patient information records and test results using the departmental patient database.
- To ensure tools and equipment used are adequately maintained for the safety of patents and staff. To feedback any Health and Safety concerns to Audiology staff.
- Responsible for the timely ordering and receipting of stock using Trust Procurement software.
- Responsible for postal repairs, battery issues and general postal enquiries.
- Responsible for the management of the ATO inbox, including responding to patients requests and liaising with the wider Audiology team.
- Responsible for the coordination of ear mould dispatch and returns.
- Responsible for coordinating warranty and reconditioned hearing aid returns

- GCSEs in Maths, English and Science at Grade C/4 or above

- Experience of working with email and windows-based applications
- Willingness to work in NHS Hospital environment

You will have the opportunity to enrol on and study a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Healthcare Science specialising in Audiology with allocated study time. Following the successful completion of the Level 4 Apprenticeship, there is a possible route to qualify as an Audiologist through the Level 6 Apprenticeship.
The post holder will deliver a competent level of patient care under the supervision and guidance of the Adult Audiology team. They will independently undertake repair clinics for clients with faulty hearing aids. They will assist in the administrative, technical and rehabilitative work of the hearing and balance services provided by the Audiology Department and be responsible for workroom and stock management.
