Job summary
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department is seeking an exceptional candidate to join the team as an apprentice pre-registration Pharmacy Technician. If you have a keen interest in maths and science and wish to undertake further studies, and you would like the opportunity to work towards a Level 3 in Pharmacy Service Skills and qualify as a Pharmacy Technician. You may be interested in a two year apprenticeship style training scheme which is available at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. Whilst there remain challenges ahead we are well positioned through our programme of transformation and our work with partners to create safe, high quality and affordable integrated healthcare services which are fit for the future needs of our population. Successful candidates will attend College on a day release basis to undertake a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or current registrable equivalent whilst training in the workplace 4 days per week to obtain and prove competence in the Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills.
Main duties of the job
The post offers 2 years comprehensive training in all aspects of Pharmacy services on a rotational basis. Individuals will need to be highly organised and motivated and be capable of meeting multiple deadlines. We will expect applicants to have an understanding of the role of a Pharmacy Technician. Students who successfully complete the 2 year course and associated study will be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). To be eligible for consideration for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician interview, you must meet all essential criteria and have: 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or grade C or above (or equivalent*), including English, Maths and double Science* Applicants MUST have the required minimum qualifications and will be asked to bring original certificates to interview (predicted grades for school leavers on official letter headed school/ college paper).
