Job Description

- Under the general direction of the Senior Apprenticeship Program Manager, performs professional duties representing the State of IL by assisting the Senior Apprenticeship Program Manager over the Illinois Works 10% Apprenticeship requirement compliance.
- Receives, processes, reviews, and makes initial determinations on Illinois Works 10% Apprenticeship grantee and contractor paperwork and required supporting documents.
- Develops, maintains, and implements internal deadlines, ensuring timely processing o tasks and acts as central point of contact for Illinois Works 10% Apprenticeship reporting.
- Serves as team leader for the Apprenticeship Compliance Section by providing support, coaching, and collaboration.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of a four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration, accounting or related fields.
- Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, preferably experience in grant administration (federal, state, or local grants experience preferred) including grant reporting.

Position Overview
The Office of Illinois Works is focused on creating equitable and inclusive job opportunities within the State of Illinois, along with creating a viable and sustainable workforce pipeline in the construction and trade industries. The Apprenticeship Initiative Manager is responsible for leading the compliance program within an assigned portfolio of state agencies. This position is in the Springfield, IL office and serves as the main point of contact for state agencies and contractors providing guidance, training, and technical assistance while also enforcing compliance requirements. This position is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading programs while working in a challenging and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in construction project management and experienced in delivering training, onboarding employees and creating/ delivering presentations. 7. Prefers 2 years’ experience developing, implementing, reviewing, and revising business processes and procedures.
8. Prefers 2 years’ experience developing and implementing performance standards.
9. Prefers 2 years’ experience making presentations and/or delivering training/technical assistance.
10. Prefers 1 year of experience creating and evaluating program budgets.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires ability to travel with some overnight stays.
2. Requires appropriate, valid driver's License.
