At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future - today. As an Archaeology Intern, you'll impact the world around you by helping us solve real-life challenges. You’ll work alongside professional archaeologists and analytical specialists, gaining exposure to laboratory protocols, relevant computer-assisted database software, a variety of techniques in artifact analysis, and so much more.

The Archaeology Laboratory Internship is an entry level position designed to provide valuable hands-on experience working with and learning from our archaeological staff in our on-site field laboratory at a large scale Data Recovery Project over 3 to 5 months in Southwestern Washington starting in May 2024. Archaeological Laboratory Interns will engage in the processing and cataloging of artifacts and be exposed to the skills used in analysis of archaeological assemblages by our team of technical experts, particularly faunal and stone artifacts. For select candidates, continuation of the internship beyond the 2024 field season is possible at the primary Jacobs Archaeology Laboratory.

      · Ability to learn laboratory protocols, including cleaning, sorting, labeling, bagging, data entry, artifact photography, and storage of artifacts
