- Lead and coordinate technical service and lab work on paints formulations with customers to support business growth and maintain Syensqo’s leadership position.
- Lead the technical development of new products to answer new needs and comply with upcoming regulations.
- Ensure the performance in terms of innovation, scientific/technical quality, relevance, competitiveness of our technologies and/or the technical solutions proposed, while respecting deadlines.
- Assure the implementation of R&I projects in alignment with business strategy.
- Visit EMEA Coatings customers. Assist customers with their technical needs as well as assess their unmet needs and initiate new projects.
- Manage the laboratory and technical activities related to technical projects to best meet the expectations of regional and global key accounts.
- Participate in technical/chemistry discussions on global roadmap projects.
- Provide technical trainings and technical support to customers and business team.
- Support industrial and quality teams, noticeably in case of customer complain or quality issue.
- Guarantee the scientific quality of the work carried out by the team.
- Understand and address market and customer needs.
- Close follow-up on customer’s technical requirements and propose technical solutions. Initiate new projects based on customer and market needs.
- Support and facilitate technically new product launches.
- Assure the scientific coaching of the researchers and its laboratories to:
- Comply with the application of "Good Practices" and R&I methodology
- Write and validate reports (technical notes: challenge on their scientific content and final validation) and oral reporting (preparation of technical presentations)
- Responsible for the motivation and development of employees.
- Ensure compliance with budgets (FTEs, operations, etc.) and participate in the implementation of Solvay policy (HR, finance, HSE, etc.)
- Engineering or Ph.D. in Chemistry (specialization in Architectural Coatings formulation)
- 5+ years of experience in a paint company or raw materials supplier
- Waterborne paint formulation experience is a requirement.
- Innovation and new product commercialization is desirable.

- The position requires traveling across EMEA
