      QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university preferred.
      2. Possess professional certification in transportation through TAPT, NAPT, TASBO, or equivalent preferred or willing to obtain.
      3. Possess and maintain a Texas CDL-B or A, P & S endorsements with acceptable driving record as measured by the School Bus Driver's Record Evaluation Criteria
      4. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop strong teams.
      5. Ability to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions to resolve issues effectively.
      6. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and CFISD Board policy and regulations.
      7. Maintain high safety standards and provide regular training for staff.
      8. Develop and implement response plans for emergencies or unexpected disruptions.
      9. Collaborate with vendors for fuel, maintenance, and other services.
      10. Track performance metrics and prepare reports for senior transportation management.
      11. Ability to provide high level, complex analyses of operational trends and results.
      12. High level of strategic management and leadership skills.
      13. Effective customer service, communications, technical, computer, and organizational skills.
      14. Minimum of seven (7) years of recent successful experience in student transportation operations preferred.
      15. Minimum of five (5) years successful supervisory experience preferred.

      TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual Contract 250 days

      SALARY:

      $76,673 (BA 5)

      Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      1. Oversee and manage the daily operation of the assigned transportation center and other centers as needed to ensure students are transported safely, efficiently, and on time.
      2. Serve as the primary contact for school administrators, parents, and community members regarding student transportation concerns and service updates.
      3. Assist the Associate Director and Director of Transportation in the administration of the department.
      4. Assist in the development, evaluation and enforcement of transportation guidelines and procedures.
      5. Work collaboratively and professionally with department personnel and district personnel, parents and the community to always provide a positive customer service experience.
      6. Manage school bus routing, scheduling, and dispatching to optimize operations and service delivery.
      7. Review on-time performance at assigned campuses and address any concerns that arise.
      8. Identify and implement improvements for route efficiency, fleet optimization, and overall service enhancements.
      9. Work with campus staff and parents/guardians in maintaining the appropriate behavior regarding the transportation of students.
      10. Ensure that all staff are aligned with the expectations of the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook when submitting student safety reports.
      11. Ensure that student safety reports are being handled in a timely manner by appropriate campus personnel, and report findings to Assistant Director of Student Safety and Support and Associate Director.
      12. Supervise, evaluate, train, and support assigned transportation personnel to maintain high service standards.
      13. Ensure compliance with staff check-ins, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, vehicle cleanliness, and proper parking procedures.
      14. Coordinate recruitment and training in collaboration with Transportation Human Resources.
      15. Review and maintain retention data for all staff at assigned transportation center.
      16. Evaluate job performance of center staff to ensure effectiveness and professional growth.
      17. Make sound recommendations concerning personnel redirection, placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal in collaboration with Transportation Human Resources.
      18. Responsible for the continual training and professional development of center staff (i.e., driving, student management, safety, and rules, procedures, and guidelines).
      19. Assume responsibility of safety officer for the assigned transportation center vehicles and personnel.
      20. Investigate and report all accidents, incidents, and collisions pertaining to assigned center.
      21. Maintain safety standards in conformance with federal, state, and insurance regulations and enforce a program of prevention safety.
      22. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
      23. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
      24. Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the CFISD Transportation Services Department and a commitment to safe, student-focused services.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Directly supervises assigned center personnel and indirectly supervises all staff.
      2. Full management responsibilities of assigned center.
      3. Collaborates with senior transportation leadership to develop strategies and broad departmental objectives; establishes methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people in the achievement of objectives.
      4. Establishes achievement objectives and assignments for multiple disciplines and functional areas.
      5. Evaluates recommendations of others, deciding on course of action in ambiguous situations, and oversees the deployment of innovative solutions.

      Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district-wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional exposure to the outdoors and noise.
