      Area Health & Safety Manager Carbohydrate Solutions

      We are now looking to fill the above role, which will lead on H&S across the area (all Carbohydrate Solutions locations across EMEA – Razgrad – Bulgaria, Bazancourt – France, Casablanca – Morocco; Adana - Turkey), supporting our leadership in reducing work related injuries and illnesses, environmental harm and all safety matters.
      Your Responsibilities
      • To support locations to effectively implement standardized ADM H&S and/or process safety programs and systems to ensure compliance with corporate and local/legal requirements.
      • Help to establish a sustainable safety culture across the sites in the region based on meeting goals, SIF prevention and continuous risk reduction. This role will provide technical and managerial direction to ensure the ADM’s regional safety objectives are met.
      • Monitor, evaluate and report area H&S and process safety performance and suggest corrective/preventive actions to further improve performance.
      • Liaise and work collaboratively with relevant BUs, (with the main focus on Carbohydrate Solutions) in order to on align ADM policies, programs and goals.
      • Proactive and hands-on support for locations, including:
        • To organize, support and assist in the orientation and training of new Leaders (e.g. Plant Managers) and especially all H&S / process safety location colleagues in the area.
        • To facilitate, Support and Assist in all kind of incident investigation (especially during SII – process safety Tier 1 / 2 and SIF / potSIF events) and organizes incident review calls with the impacted locations.
        • To provide technical support (as and when required) and support project management (CAPEX) - ideally the position is proactively involved during Design Phase.
        • To Lead and support projects and initiatives around Health & Safety and process safety in their area.
      • To facilitate, organize and support H&S, process safety and/or Leadership training for Operations leadership in the area.
      • Training & development of the H&S and process safety professionals in the region, for example by providing Train-the-trainer sessions for location H&S / process Safety colleagues and supporting regional trainings.
      • Lead and participate in regional compliance audits and assessments.
      • Lead the regional H&S organization (5-10 dotted-line reports)
      • To advise management of safety and health issues, providing location managers with guidance and assistance as required.
      • To develop training, standards and procedures in alignment with ADM Corporate and/or legal requirements.
      • To Develop and maintain positive relationships with key contacts and stakeholders.
      • To work in accordance with and support local Performance Excellence (Continuous Improvement) principles, such as structured management system, Zero loss and resulting Loss to Action, providing support/execution on related matters such as the development of skills matrix/element trees & support of subcommittees
      • To models the core values with regard to safety; integrity, respect, excellence, resourcefulness, teamwork and responsibility.

      Your Profile

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering & Management, Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Quality Management, or another related field .
      • Experience as management system auditor in Incident Investigations and with behavior based safety
      • Advanced knowledge in process safety related topics (explosion prevention, PHA, Seveso).
      • A flexible approach to work with the ability to frequently travel on business (approx. 20-30% of the time).
      • Fluency in English and ideally French language skills. A third language would be beneficial.
      • 5+ years experience in a safety related or management role, preferably in an industrial environment
