      ARRS GP Role - PUT YOUR HEART INTO HART - JOIN OUR TEAM IN FLEET

      This is a position for a newly qualified, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking GP looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career. This role is tailored for newly qualified GPs (within 2 years of qualification and without holding a substantive post) on a fixed-term salaried contract, with the potential for extension. The sessions are negotiable. The ARRS GP Role aims to enhance patient care and access to primary care services. As part of our multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering comprehensive healthcare to our diverse patient population. We are looking for a GP with excellent communication skills, strong clinical expertise, and a commitment to a patient-centered approach. The position leverages ARRS-funded resources to optimise care delivery, improve patient outcomes, and increase the efficiency and capacity of primary care services.

      Main duties of the job

      You will manage a case load and will work autonomously on a day-to-day basis. To support your development, you will have a dedicated GP assigned to carry out professional supervision.

      Key duties include managing routine and urgent appointments through face-to-face and telephone consultations, providing safe and evidence-based individualised patient care.

      We are a well established Hampshire based practice who this year celebrates 60 years of serving the local community. We are committed to the provision of high quality care delivered by personal GP list based care and multidisciplinary team working.

      We have 4 full time GP Partners, a Managing Partner, a Deputy Manager, 2 Physician Associates, Care Coordinators, MSK practitioners and Mental Health Support workers. Our clinical system is EMIS Web, and we use ICE, and Docman. We are high QoF achievers and rated Good for CQC.

      Job responsibilities

      The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP.

      1. Provide patient-centred, evidence-based care that addresses the medical needs of the local patient population. This includes diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, working to improve overall health outcomes.

      2. Ensure that all medical services provided align with the standards and obligations set out in the primary care contract. This includes meeting targets related to patient care, access, and service quality, in compliance with NHS guidelines.

      3.Implement safe, effective, and cost-efficient prescribing practices, ensuring that medication choices follow both local formularies and national prescribing guidelines

      4. Ensure all administrative tasks, including managing referrals to secondary care, processing repeat prescription requests, reviewing test results, and handling patient queries, are completed promptly and accurately to support effective patient care.

      5. Ensure that all patient consultations, treatments, and decisions are accurately recorded in patient notes in a timely manner, following best practices and adhering to legal and policy requirements. This is essential for continuity of care and medico-legal purposes.

      6. Contribute to the practice team by taking on a fair and equitable share of clinical and administrative duties. This ensures smooth operations and a balanced workload across the practice.

      7. Follow established clinical guidelines for patient care and actively participate in audits to ensure quality improvement. Take a proactive approach in implementing any audit recommendations to enhance patient safety and care standards.

      8. Support practice-wide initiatives aimed at improving patient care, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Contribute ideas and take part in projects that drive continuous improvement in healthcare quality and outcomes.

      9. Collaborate with other health and social care providers to ensure integrated services, maintain accurate patient records, support clinical and administrative staff to meet high standards and targets, and engage in role reviews to align with evolving service needs.

      10. Work with your line manager to undertake continual personal and professional development, access regular supervision and take an active part in reviewing and developing the roles and responsibilities of the post.
