      BC Assessment is currently looking for a temporary Summer Law Student to join our Assessment Legal and Appeals team at our Vancouver office for a four-month term, from May to August.

      Who you are

      We are looking for a current law student from an accredited post-secondary institution who has completed two years of law school. The successful candidate should also have:

      • Knowledge of administrative law, real property law, taxation law, and/or statutory interpretation and analysis;

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;

      • Strong communication skills;

      • The ability to independently plan and manage projects to meet time and resource constraints;

      • Skills in drafting clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents with accuracy and professionalism;

      • Strong research and analytical skills.

      Experience in a customer-focused environment or the public-sector would be seen as an asset.

      This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.

      Location: Vancouver, BC

      Compensation: $28.5111 hourly ($1,995.78 bi-weekly)

      What’s next

      • Interviews are tentatively scheduled for April 14th and 17th.

      • Offers of employment are conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, two satisfactory reference checks and proof of qualifications and/or supporting documentation (e.g. copies of certificates, diplomas, degrees, driver’s license).
