- Plan, develop, and implement enriching educational programs in the visual and performing arts for children, teens, and adults.
- Promote, publicize, monitor, and evaluate the success of activities, events, and programming and make suggestions for improvements.
- Organize and implement program logistics and determine supply and equipment needs, including maintaining the teaching studios.
- Prepare and distribute promotional materials and create content for website, social media, and eNewsletter.
- Train, schedule, and lead contractors and volunteers for both day and evening programs, activities, and events.
- Support other programming and division initiatives as needed.
- Respond to inquiries and requests for information.
- Keep detailed files and records and prepare reports.
- Provide outstanding service, pursue continuous improvement, and exceed expectations.
- Bachelor's Degree in arts related field preferred.
- At least 3 years' experience in arts education programming preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, time management, communication (verbal and written), and customer service skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office applications); experience with Active.Net a plus.
- An understanding of the needs of an ethnically and economically diverse community.
- Valid driver's license.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (may be obtained through the City upon hire).
- Or any acceptable equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The Cultural Events & Services Division of the Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture is seeking a part-time Arts Education Program Coordinator to develop, organize, and implement enriching in-person visual and performing arts classes, workshops, camps, and other education programs, activities, and events for children, teens, and adults.The Program Coordinator works with contracted visual and performing art teachers to design educational and enrichment programs; selects, contracts, and supervises teaching artists; works with City marketing staff to promote programs; supervises volunteers; interacts with students and families; and supports other Department and Division initiatives as assigned.The position requires expertise and experience in arts education programming and outstanding abilities in customer service, contractor supervision, and organization. An arts related college degree and 3 years of similar experience is preferred. You must be highly customer focused, diplomatic, an effective verbal and written communicator, possess advanced computer skills, be able to multi-task and meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of the team.Approximately 25 hours per week; a core work schedule will be established upon hire. Requires evening and weekend availability, based on facility and programming needs.Starting hourly rate will be within the range and offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
