Job Description
- Req#: 79634BR
- Accept up to 4 newly admitted patients from the swing and night shifts and patients transferring from the MICU
- Provide direct clinical care, including rounding on up to 12 patients, writing orders, creating and implementing diagnostic and therapeutic plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, coordinating safe discharge and follow up care.
- Triage admission requests from the ED
- Admit up to 5 patients from the ED, including admission orders and clinical documentation
- Provide medical consultation and orthopedics co-management during evening and nighttime hours, including responding to MERTs for orthopedics, ENT, and 4A SNF
- Provide supervision to residents on swing and night shifts
- Provide cross-coverage for patients on the FIS service and consult service
- Sign out newly admitted patients to FIS and resident service
- MD or DO certification
- 1+ year of experience
- California Medical License
- DEA License
- Board eligible or certified
- Experience working in a safety net hospital
- Hospital medicine experience
- MD or DO certification

Job Summary
MSP Hospitalist would be eligible to staff up to three different types of clinical shifts on the medicine wards at San Francisco General Hospital:

The Division of Hospital Medicine (DHM) is the largest division in the Department of Medicine (DOM) in terms of faculty size and is a national leader in clinical care, education, research, and quality improvement. Clinically, the division runs 10 clinical services and provides care for nearly half of the patients in the adult hospital on any given day. The Division of Hospital Medicine is the national leader in the field of Hospital Medicine, and supports a diverse research program spanning a broad range of clinical questions and methodologies.
