We are looking for a talented Mechanical Assembler (Switches) for the Afternoon Shift, who has a passion for innovation and in their field of expertise, enjoys working as part of a team and are committed to helping us become a leader in our industry.
  
  
  Work Arrangement: Onsite

  Shift: Afternoon (Mon - Thurs, 4pm – 2am)

  Work Location: 90 Belfield rd., Etobicoke M9W 1G4
  
  
  As a Mechanical Assembler (Switches) you will:

  • Assemble basic mechanical and electrical components, Cut, crimp, strip, and label wires according to schematics and assembly instructions. Mount electrical components while routing and securing cables neatly within assemblies.
  • Inspect mechanical and electronic components and assemblies to ensure correct component selection, placement, and wiring, according to quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and any quality concerns.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling tools, equipment, and materials. Report any safety hazards promptly.
  • Complete in-house training to learn how to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOLs).
  • Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules
  • Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  Who are we looking for? Someone who has:

  • 0-1 year of experience in assembly with a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes, follow assembly instructions, and use various hand/power tools to assemble products.
  • Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
  • Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
  • Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
  • Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.

  
  Preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
