      Job Summary and Responsibilities:

      This role will serve as a key contributor and delivery engine for the Business Intelligence & Distribution Insights team, operating as part of the broader Distribution Strategy & Enablement group. This team is a driving force behind our Client Solutions Group, using data and technology to scale our distribution business and contribute to the growth of the Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) business overall. Specifically, this BI/DI function will help develop and grow a data ecosystem to help both provide critical reporting and insights to senior management, as well as formulate data models to help advance the on-the-field execution of our sales teams. Our teams work closely with leadership from across the distribution business (including sales, marketing, product) while partnering closely with GSAM Engineering to develop and deliver on a multi-year roadmap of solutions and tools that will help scale the business and drive profitability. Primary areas of focus will include data analysis and visualization to extract insights from combined data sets, customer segmentation modeling, territory analysis, and KPI performance tracking. We are seeking a highly-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Analyst or Associate to join our Goldman Sachs Asset Management Client Solutions group to help build out the Business intelligence and Distribution Insights function. In this role, you will partner closely w/ the broader components of the Distribution Strategy & Enablement group to utilize data to drive business outcomes and enhance sales productivity by developing and communicating insights to key stakeholders. The role will help the organization manage data, build reporting (including visualizations), and produce analytics that empower business decision-makers.

      Skills/Experience:

      • 3-6 years’ of experience operating and leading Business Intelligence efforts, ideally in the Asset Management space
      • Experience working with key Investment Management Distribution data (e.g., Transactional, AUM, 3rd party opportunity data sets, Marketing Campaign data, Web analytics etc.) preferred
      • Prior experience with BI methodology (e.g., descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytic techniques)
      • Data-driven user centered design approach to analysis and data management, with demonstrated ability to deliver information that addresses and anticipates various business users’ needs
      • Exposure to and experience with Cloud-based MDM, databases, and data warehouse technologies preferred
      • The ideal candidate has a strong willingness to learn, ability to leverage technical skills, and a solid understanding of business strategies, priorities and initiatives.
      • Enjoys problem solving and being “the glue” between business challenges/opportunities and delivering results.
      • Demonstrates an understanding of multiple databases, data flows and relationships across various sources.
      • Has a strong ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with business and IT leaders, project members and vendors to assure success.
      • Self-motivated team player, comfortable working within a dynamic business environment, juggling multiple responsibilities and pivoting to new challenges/priorities as they arise.
      • Working knowledge of BI and Analytics applications (i.e. – Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik) and database tools (i.e. – Elastic, MS SQL Server, Legend)
      • Experience in programming (scripting / coding), SQL and relational databases and application development
      • Functional understanding of Salesforce / CRM platforms
      • Strong problem solving skills and abilities, able to craft unique solutions with limited guidance; proactive in assessing dynamic situations
      • Fast learner and effective communicator of new / complex information
      • Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
