      Located within Leeds Cancer Centre at St Jamess University Hospital one of Europes leading specialist cancer centres we work in partnership with the St Jamess University Hospital Institute of Oncology to deliver exceptional, research-driven care.

      We are a close-knit, supportive team, and we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join us. This role plays a vital part in the day-to-day administration, processing, and book keeping within our Finance Department while also providing administrative and organisational support to the Clinical Director.

      As the go-to person for finance-related inquiries, you will be the first point of contact for the finance team, ensuring excellent service.

      Main duties of the job

      Key Responsibilities

      Processing and preparing invoices and expense claims.

      Managing invoices through insurer e-billing systems and accounting software.

      Handling self-funding invoices, receipts, and petty cash.

      Processing remittance advices and monthly NHS invoices.

      Maintaining and updating financial spreadsheets (Excel).

      Reconciling credit card expenses.

      Conducting credit control and telephone debt chasing.

      Preparing patient excess letters.

      Managing queries from patients and insurance companies.

      Handling incoming payments (cash, cheques, etc.).

      Performing account reconciliations. Assisting with development projects.

      Supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting.
