Coach at least one athletic season, preferably two if possible.
Game Day Management: Assist with game-day operations, including event staff and officials. Collaborate with the Athletic Department on day-to-day operations and assist with site management for all seasons (i.e., setting up LFA home matches, games, or meets)
Equipment Management: Assist with proper storage, maintenance, and distribution of athletic equipment and uniforms.
Communications Support: Potential engagement with the Communications Department on athletic social media efforts.
Coaching Support: Mentor coaches with player development, practice planning, troubleshooting, etc.
Student Leadership Supervision: Co-advisor for the student athletic club ( Caxy Athletic Team ).
Serve as an advisor or co-advisor to a small group of students
Represent the athletic department at home athletic events
Work with the department to ensure gender equity in the athletics program
Work to attract and retain student-athletes
Develop conference and non-conference schedules for athletic competitions
Post schedules on the website and work on schedule development with coaches and assist with scheduling practices, games, and tournaments
Schedule officials for assigned teams
Support travel logistics
Maintain records of athletic events and student-athletes on the LFA athletics website and MaxPreps
Assist with communication with athletes, parents, and the LFA community regarding athletic updates, cancellations, and other relevant information.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree or higher required
Valid driver's license to drive school vehicles, including 14-passenger vans
Experience playing and/or coaching a variety of sports at the high school and/or collegiate level
Established background in sports and a knowledge of the commitment to the success of student-athletes
Experience as an athletics administrator in an educational environment is preferred
Demonstrates strong ability to execute planning and supervising athletic events
Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt easily to new technology; experience with ScheduleStar, Final Site, and/or MaxPreps a plus.
Strong customer service skills and experience working with a variety of constituents
Schedule flexibility: this role requires working during the school day, weeknight, and weekend hours based on practice and game schedules.
Strong collaboration, organizational, written and communication skills.
Strong attention to accuracy, deadlines and detail with the ability to prioritize assignments and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
Experience with Veracross or a related CMS is preferred.

About the company
Lake Forest Academy is a co-educational college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12.
Lake Forest Academy seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Athletics to start in July 2025. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for select sports and assist with the daily operations of the Athletics Department, working closely with and supporting the Athletic Director. Candidates with experience working with female athletes are strongly preferred. The school is deeply committed to a diverse faculty and student body. Campus housing is not available for the 2025-2026 school year.
In addition to Athletics, this position is also expected to assist academically on a part-time basis. This may include assisting in Learning Resources or teaching a class, depending on their area of study.

Lake Forest Academy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes full medical and dental coverage, 403(b) retirement plan, and other benefits. Final salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the final appointed candidate, with an expected salary range between $50,000 and $80,000.
