What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Advise and represent the Division of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) in court proceedings, including appeals
- Handle cases involving public disclosure/confidentiality issues and DCYF licensing at administrative hearings
- Engage in litigation and provide client advice in high-volume juvenile litigation cases
- Familiarize yourself with applicable rules, statutes, and procedures relevant to DCYF cases
- Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to ensure the protection of children and family interests
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school or completion of WSBA's Rule 6 Law Clerk Program
- Licensed to practice law in Washington State or actively pursuing admission
- Experience in high-volume litigation practices
- Ability to quickly learn new areas of law and handle emotionally charged cases
- Commitment to public service and ethical legal practice

- Experience in juvenile litigation involving dependency, guardianship, and termination of parental rights actions
