Job Description

- Prior experience in the directing of band and activities at the community, high school or collegiate level preferred
- Knowledge of basic first aid and band safety practices
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, staff, and community while fostering a positive atmosphere
- Directs individual and ensemble student performers to develop band abilities through practice, movement and choreography.
- Supervises a regular schedule of rehearsal with an emphasis on ensemble and collaboration.
- Presents student productions to exhibit work for the school and community.
- Selects and requisitions music, materials, and other supplies/equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Instructs students in proper care and use of musical equipment; recommending purchases and updates.
- Oversees the safety conditions and accountability issues involving students and NAFCS facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Band Director, Principal and/or other designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
