\nAssistant Company Manager (Touring) – VStar Entertainment Group
Full-Time Position
We are looking for our next Assistant Company Manager to join our VStar Entertainment Group Touring Management team. The main objective of this role is to Perform the administrative work on the road unit as assigned and coordinated by the Company Manager to achieve effective operation of the road company. It is understood that the Assistant Company Manager will work together with the Company Manager in learning all aspects of the Company Manager’s position.
The Assistant Company Manager will have the opportunity to:
- Act as box office and house auditor under the direction of the Company Manager;
- Assist in making all travel arrangements including bus or plane travel and "in-town" cab, van or local bus service between hotel and the facility, as assigned by the Company Manager;
- Assist Company Manager in arranging hotels at reasonable rates for all touring employees, giving regard to the safety and comfort as well as location in proximity to the facility for all employees;
- Assist Company Manager and/or Performance Director with coordinating in and out of house publicity and promotions, such as local publicity assignments, pre-show announcements, etc. in cooperation with the local promoter. Solely responsible for coordinating transportation, storage and security of publicity costumes used for local publicity assignments;
- Be responsible for the company callboard, collection of valuables, etc.;
- Provide administrative and clerical procedures necessary for the effective operation of the show;
- Participates in VIP parties, promotions, social media, and publicity assignments. Participation may include being a handler, dresser, first point of contact and/or any other roles required to ensure a successful event. Works in conjunction with the Performance Director, Wardrobe, cast, road office Management, home office, and local promoter. Communicates back to the home office with concerns and difficulties;
- Initiate advance calls with venues regarding VIP coordination and specific FOH items;
- Setup and strike all elements for the VIP experience, check in VIP patrons before each show, oversee each VIP experience to include all guest interaction, taking photos, and the upkeep of the VIP space, and provide a detailed report on the event;
- Confirm all rental vehicles with local branch prior to hotel arrival and inspect/assign all rental vehicles to management, cast, crew, and retail upon hotel arrival;
- Plan rest and lunch stops for all bus travel days;
- Assist with company callboard and break-table setup during show load-ins;
- Operate company vehicles to include running errands, occasionally transporting tour members to work, and dropping off/picking up tour members to urgent care facilities if injuries occur;
- Assist with documentation regarding work injuries;
- Assist with keeping a safe workplace and report safety concerns to the Production Manager and Company Manager;
- Track giveaway inventory for each VIP event and coordinate with Retail on obtaining inventory as needed;
- Assist with booking flights for travel days and obtaining luggage receipts from tour members;
- Assist with payroll and the distribution of petty cash;
- Assist with proofreading and editing operational, performance, and other various reports, and providing valuable feedback for future events;
- Facilitates and leads FOH meetings to brief security, ushers, and other venue staff on tour policies and specific requirements regarding the safety and flow of the show;
- Collaborate with Retail on FOH setup and layout;
- Assist with maintaining various tour communication platforms including Master Tour and Slack;
- Assist with event planning to include local recreational activities, based on tour scheduling, to aid in maintaining company morale;
- All other work-related duties as assigned;
What does it take for this role? The following hard skills are the basics of what is needed to be successful in this position:
- Ability to perform assigned responsibilities under minimal supervision, recognizing when assistance is required;
- Ability to develop and maintain sufficient working knowledge of internal operations as they relate to the finance, operations, and production functions;
- Willingness to aid others, which contributes to a cooperative, productive work environment;
- Adheres to and enforces all established guidelines and safety procedures outlined in VStar Road Crew handbook;
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all VStar employees;
- Ability to carry 50 lb. boxes, bend, and be on knees for an extended period while setting up elements of VIP;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- If applicable for the tours travel schedule must be and remain in good standing with all proper authorities throughout the Services Period, including maintaining the validity of one’s passport and the ability to travel internationally;
- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization;
- Able to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law;
