      We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant company Secretary to support to the Santander UK plc and Santander UK Group Holdings PLC Boards and Board Committees in order to assist them in functioning efficiently and effectively.

      As an Assistant Company Secretary with the Board & Executive Governance unit, you’ll have daily interaction with the Directors and Senior Management and must have excellent communication and organisational skills. In addition to supporting the Boards and Committees, you’ll support the wider Corporate Governance Office with statutory and regulatory compliance and participate in project work.

      The difference you’ll make:

      • Proactively supporting the Deputy Company Secretary to manage the board meeting cycle and governance advisory support to the Board and its Committees driving effective coordination with the Committee Secretaries.

      • Activities include drafting meeting agendas liaising with key stakeholders, managing quality and timely distribution of materials to the Committee members and Executive Management, drafting meeting specific documentation including minutes and chair’s script.

      • Overseeing activities of a Company Secretariat Assistant to maintain forward looking calendars, meeting action schedules and support the agenda setting process.

      • Maintaining statutory documentation and preparing regulatory and governance documentation as required, for internal purposes and/or external disclosures.

      • Maintaining involvement with all aspects of the Corporate Governance Office’s work to ensure that effective support is provided to other team members when priorities change or to meet business demand.

      • Undertaking specific project work ensuring that the Corporate Governance Office continues to provide an efficient and first class service.

      What you’ll bring:

      • Significant experience working as a company secretary either in listed or financial services businesses with strong minute-taking skills.

      • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.

      It would also be nice for you to have:

      • Qualified as a Chartered Secretary (ACIS), Lawyer, relevant professional qualification.

      • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience of direct interaction with senior stakeholders (at Chairman/non-Executive Director, Senior Executive level).

      • Flexible approach and the ability to adapt to variations in workloads and changes in responsibilities and priorities, with minimal supervision and work on own initiative.

      • A positive attitude, sense of humour and the ability to work well in a team, interacting effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.

      This role is based in Milton Keynes, and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office.
