      Under the supervision of the Coordinator and Director of the Math Lab, the Assistant Coordinator supports daily operations of the Math Lab with an emphasis on evening supervision. This role involves working with student employees, assisting with scheduling, evaluations, and training, and contributing to outreach efforts and the development of learning resources.

      The Assistant Coordinator serves as the primary administrative presence during evening hours in the Math Lab, providing oversight and support to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities of this position include assisting with tutor scheduling, reviewing time entries, managing employee training and evaluation data, and supporting the development and supervision of Programs & Workshops. The role also contributes to the hiring, onboarding, and training of new tutors, performs regular employee evaluations, and participates in outreach and marketing efforts. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during evening shifts are essential. Additional duties may be assigned to support the continued success of the Math Lab.
      • Oversees Math Lab operations during evening hours, serving as the primary administrative presence and ensuring smooth functioning of the lab after the coordinator and director have left for the day.
      • Assists the coordinator and director with managing daily operations, including interviewing prospective tutors, conducting evaluations, creating schedules, and reviewing time entries for accuracy using TIMS.
      • Assists with the coordination of Programs & Workshops by supervising small project teams and providing guidance to ensure progress and alignment with lab goals.
      • Contributes to marketing and outreach efforts by participating in hallway marketing, attending events, and promoting Math Lab services across campus.
      • Aids in data collection and management by maintaining employee records and tracking lab usage and performance data for assessment and reporting purposes.
      • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and effectiveness of the Math Lab.
      • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a related field and 1+ years of directly related work experience OR a combination of work and educational experience totaling three years.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Education in mathematics or a similar field.
      • Prior experience in a college learning center environment.

      • Knowledge of learning centers, tutoring strategies, and student academic support services.

      • Knowledge of employee training programs (e.g., CRLA), evaluation processes, and data reporting.
      • Knowledge of data collection methods, basic assessment creation, and trend analysis.

      • Skill in using computers and software applications, including Excel, scheduling tools, and data processing programs.
