      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review, analyze, and respond to Complaints in Maryland state and federal courts
      - Research relevant legal issues and prepare various types of motions
      - Gather necessary facts from clients and witnesses, including drafting and analyzing complex written discovery
      - Prepare for and conduct bench trials and jury trials, and participate in mediations
      - Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for local, state, or federal government

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Graduation from an accredited university school of law
      - One (1) year of post-degree experience as a law clerk or in a similar capacity for Assistant County Attorney I
      - Two (2) years of professional experience as an attorney, including trial experience for Assistant County Attorney II
      - Four (4) years of professional experience as an attorney, including one (1) year of specialized experience in local government law for Assistant County Attorney III
      - Active membership in the Maryland State Bar is required for Assistant County Attorney II and III levels at the time of appointment

      - Experience in the areas of law handled by the Division
      - Strong trial skills and experience
      - Knowledge of local government law
      - Excellent organization skills and ability to cope with exposure to difficult subject matters
      - Ability to work collaboratively and effectively under high-stress circumstances
