- Assists the Cultural Arts Manager with the hiring of part-time employees and independent contractors to teach art classes.
- Trains staff on art program instructions and division policies.
- Takes the lead on cultural program development in both visual and performing arts.
- Plans and schedules youth and adult year-round session and workshop classes.
- Ability to instruct and substitute for a variety of youth and adult art classes.
- Registers participants, monitors enrollment, processes cancellations, issues refunds, and provides rosters for classes at the facility.
- Communicates clearly with parents, participants, and instructors.
- Seeks out partnerships for art opportunities in the Village.
- Purchases supplies for youth and adult art classes including rental of necessary supplies and equipment per City purchasing policies and budget limitations; ensures vendor payments are made in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepares and distributes promotional materials describing programming; provides marketing for outside resources to include media contacts.
- Conducts program evaluation; recommends modifications as appropriate.
- Prepares reports and budget information.
- Assists in the planning and development of communications and informational materials designed to keep the public informed of Curtis Center for the Arts exhibits and programs including but not limited to, newsletters, posters, brochures, press releases, email notifications and social media.
- Plan and create social media posts, on all City used venues, to keep the public informed of all activities of the Cultural Arts Program.
- Creates and distributes regular email campaigns to the program’s database to keep subscribers aware of all activities of the Cultural Arts Program.
- Two times a year, develops a hard copy brochure of all the future classes offered at The Curtis Center for the Arts.
- Assists in the coordination of art projects and cultural programming at Village special events; attends and participates in special events, including but not limited to, Greenwood Village Day, Fall Festival, and Mayor’s Holiday Lighting.
- Assists with budget administration, staffing, and administration of art activities at Village special events.
- Purchases or rents necessary materials or equipment per City purchasing policy.
- Coordinates activities with other Parks, Trails & Recreation staff and/or other departments as necessary.
- Provides staff support at events and works cooperatively with other department staff members and volunteers to ensure that each task is completed for the event; assists with set up and take down of events.
- Performs building operations, such as opening and closing, following the City’s required procedures, and acts as a building receptionist, as needed.
- Greets visitors and supplies information related to the current exhibit.
- Assists visitors who have special needs.
- Orders office and display supplies and materials; maintains supply inventory.
- Receives, sorts, and distributes mail; delivers mail, as necessary.
- Creates reports, business correspondence, forms, and proofreads mailing labels, envelopes, newsletters, press releases, and other materials.
- Prepares articles and takes pictures for monthly newsletters and monthly updates.
- Maintains current information on the City’s website and online registration program.
- Provides support services in preparation for and during the Greenwood Village Arts and Humanities Council (GVAHC) meeting including items such as, but not limited to, agenda distribution, meals, recording and transcribing minutes.
- Create invitations, brochures, flyers, and newsletters which effectively relate to appropriate material within a restricted time limit.
- Coordinate, organize, and teach art activities.
- Coordinate and implement special events.
- Modern office procedures, methods and equipment including operating a computer.
- Methods and procedures of data entry.
- Basic business letter writing and basic report preparation.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Maintain records and prepare computer-generated reports.
- Type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.

- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

- Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Three years responsible experience in support of an arts program, or the equivalent experience in the arts and humanities field which included the performance of relevant clerical duties and/or art instruction.
- Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade, supplemented by college level course work in art education, or a related field. Associates of Art degree from an accredited institution with major course work in the arts, graphic design, or a related field.

SALARY RANGE: $20.85 - $36.82 per hour Commensurate to experience.

REMOTE/HYBRID: Typical schedules are in-office Monday through Friday. Remote and/or hybrid schedules are not available. However, flexible scheduling may be discussed upon hire and supervisor approval.
RELOCATION: This position is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Relocation assistance is not provided.
REQUIREMENTS: Three years responsible experience in support of an arts program, or the equivalent experience in the arts and humanities field which included the performance of relevant clerical duties and/or art instruction. Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade, supplemented by college level course work in art education, or a related field. Associates of Art degree from an accredited institution with major course work in the arts, graphic design, or a related field. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Colorado driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to obtain coverage by the City’s insurance carrier.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Design elements, graphics, and publishing software. Methods, techniques, materials, equipment, and safety precautions used in planning, organizing, and administering art classes. Proper methods for the care and handling of works of art. Developing and implementing a variety of art programs and services.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of classes, receptions, lectures, meetings, and gallery hours. May assume some responsibilities of the Cultural Arts Manager as assigned.
Working Conditions: Typical indoor office and art exhibit environment, occasionally outdoors for special events or travel. Standard office equipment, including computer, software programs, and a motor vehicle. Evening and/or weekend work required.
