      Position Title: Assistant Dean, Student Services

      Department : 2610|Nursing

      Responsibilities :

      The Assistant Dean, Student Services is responsible for maintaining comprehensive and confidential records related to Student Services within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This role involves actively participating in student recruitment and retention activities, advising students in various programs, managing scholarship processes, and ensuring efficient office operation. The Assistant Dean serves as a key liaison between students, faculty, and external agencies, playing a crucial role in fostering a supportive and successful academic environment.

      Responsibilities:
      -Maintain current and confidential records related to Student Services, including scholarships, individual student files, cumulative data, predictive data, monthly reports, reports for external agencies, program evaluation reports, and prospective employer information.
      -Actively participate in student recruitment and retention activities, including Preview Day, Junior Day, Foundations of Excellence, Nursing Career Fair, and Athletic Recruitment Functions.
      -Participate in recruitment events hosted by area school districts and healthcare agencies.
      -Conduct student advising sessions each semester, offering guidance in curricular planning from entry to graduation.

      -Advise students enrolled in BSN, RN-BSN, Accelerated Rn to BSN, HIM, and HSA programs and addition of any new programs.

      -Assist students in staying on track with program-specific curriculum designed for timely graduation.
      -Collect student scholarship applications, synthesize information, and notify donors and recipients of awards.
      -Monitor scholarship recipients' full-time enrollment and cumulative grade point averages each semester for scholarship maintenance.
      -Coordinate and conduct administrative responsibilities, including managing enrollment in nursing and Health Sciences courses, reviewing degree audits for graduates, and projecting the number of students enrolling in specific courses.
      -Supervise and monitor Nursing Student Services Administrative Assistant, Advisor/Counselor, and RN to BSN Academic Advisors, as well as student workers.
      -Provide students with updates and changes in curriculum or policies within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
      Serve as an advocate for student concerns and needs with faculty and administration.
      -Correspond with prospective students, transfer students, and re-entry students to provide information and guidance.
      -Serve as a member of Faculty/Student Activities committee and/or Commencement committee, as well as participate in campus committees as directed.
      -Keep all documents, literature, forms, and the website updated for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Profession programs.
      -Supply student demographic information for various reports and grant proposals.
      -Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean, Director of Nursing, and the Department Head for Health Sciences.

      Qualifications:
      Required Qualifications:
      -Bachelor’s degree
      -1 year of experience in Academic Advising

      Preferred Qualifications:
      -Master’s degree
      -2 or more years of experience in Academic Advising
