      What we want
      The Assistant Director for Accreditation and Data Management is responsible for leading schoolwide efforts around accreditation and academic-related data management processes, assuring compliance with Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), and other relevant accrediting bodies’ standards. The Assistant Director will serve as the internal expert and primary point of contact for these accreditors and act as the point person for specific questions from faculty, staff, and students involved in accreditation activities. The Assistant Director reports to the Assistant Dean for Accountability and Strategic Initiatives and works closely with the School’s Executive Leadership team.

      Required Education & Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, higher education curriculum and instruction, instructional design, assessment, or related field and six years of experience in Public Health, Healthcare Administration or general healthcare

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Understanding of and experience with major issues and trends in adult higher education, teaching and adult learning

      • Demonstrated skill in clear, effective communication-both oral and writing-with diverse constituencies

      • Track record of leading and managing short- and long-term projects with multiple stakeholders

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master's or Doctoral degree

      • Understanding and experience with accreditation requirements for public health and/or higher education

      • Track record of effective collaboration with academic, administrative, and regulatory stakeholders in academic environments

      • Understanding of public health and experience with teaching and/or learning of public health curriculum


      Responsibilities:

      Curriculum Accreditation and Compliance

      • Lead schoolwide efforts around accreditation and academic-related data management processes. Assure compliance with Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), and other relevant accrediting bodies’ standards. Plan, initiate, monitor, and execute TAMU-School of Public Health re-accreditation processes

      • Act as the internal expert and a primary point of contact for TAMU-SPH ’s specialty
        accreditors (CEPH, CAHME, etc.). Liaise with CEPH, CAHME and other accrediting bodies representatives, SPH faculty and staff, and University staff to collect data

      • Provide school leadership and program faculty with guidance on meeting accreditation standards put forth by these groups

      • Support the university’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) re-accreditation process and compliance

      • Research and resolve issues, assist in drafting self-study documents, identify and retain appropriate documentation, and organize staff to finalize submission, meeting specific deadlines

      • Support ongoing assessment, design, and redesign of academic programs at the school to assure accreditation and compliance

      • Provide outreach, collaboration, and support to individual faculty, faculty committees, and school leadership, in their efforts to evaluate and report on course and program quality, and meet accreditation standards

      • Guide individual faculty and programs in the selection of appropriate assessment and academic measurement techniques, for the purposes of accreditation and course/program quality

      Data Analysis and Reporting

      • Develop and contribute to reports, presentations, written correspondence, and other data requests to ensure the dissemination of quality information to target audiences and stakeholders, including the University and external agencies. Establish project timelines to ensure goals and objectives are met

      Assess and Report on Student Learning Processes and Outcomes

      • Drive use of student evaluation data to develop recommendations for programs, and processes to improve course designs and instructional approaches that maximize student learning and success, collaborating with the SPH Executive Leadership team, faculty, and other student services providers as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
