WERACE/Danbury Adult Ed - Act as a member of the WERACE leadership team, providing program leadership and oversight;
- Oversee and manage ABE, GED, CDP, and NEDP programs, ensuring compliance with state-mandated guidelines;
- Act as the primary point of contact for ABE, GED, CDP and NEDP student intake and placement processes;
- Ensure the security and management of assessment materials, inventory, and reporting requirements;
- Collaborate with program faculty to evaluate test results and assist with student placement;
- Regularly utilize CASAS and LACES platforms for program data analysis, reporting, and feedback to students and staff;
- Review LACES data reports with the program director to ensure accuracy for state and federal compliance;
- Collaborate with the Regional Director of Adult and Continuing Education to prepare annual grant applications and ensure ongoing program funding;
- Monitor attendance, retention, and progress of students in ABE, GED, CDP, and NEDP programs, implementing strategies to improve student outcomes;
- Develop and oversee initiatives to increase student enrollment and retention;
- Manage and evaluate ABE, GED, NEDP, and CDP instructors with support from the Regional Director;
- Travel frequently between primary program sites and occasionally to other adult education provider locations, as needed, to support program operations;
- Perform other duties as delegated by the Regional Director of Adult and Continuing Education
- Strong understanding of ABE, GED, CDP, and NEDP program;
- Proficiency in CASAS and LACES data platforms;
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines;
- Comprehensive knowledge of College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS);
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- BA/BS degree required; advanced degree preferred;
- Minimum of two years experience teaching adult learners in basic or secondary education program completion;
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification with endorsements in adult education programs (e.g. 107 and/or 106).
- CASAS proctor and facilitator certification required within 90 days of hire.

The Assistant Director of Adult Basic and Secondary Education oversees the National External Diploma Program (NEDP), General Education Development (GED), Credit Diploma Program (CDP), and Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs. The role ensures the effective implementation, quality management, and compliance of these programs with state and federal guidelines while fostering student success and retention.

Compensation:The salary for this position ranges from $95,000-$125,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
