      The Assistant Director of Clinical Education is responsible for the successful day-to-day operations of the Office of Clinical Education (OCE).

      This individual works directly with the Director of Clinical Education. More specifically, the Assistant Director maintains and manages all clearances of teacher candidates to engage in clinical experiences, supports data collection of clinical education for accreditation, administers data collection instruments, monitors the daily expenses of the OCE budget, develops and maintains materials for events, works with the Director to provide professional learning for mentor teachers, manages student orientations and other events, liaises with career services and school districts for student employment purposes, maintains databases of students who struggle, meets with students who are struggling and their respective stakeholders, troubleshoots issues and concerns in clinical experiences, works with schools to determine site capacity for placements, develops and maintains documents for clinical education, disseminates correspondence, approves payment processes, liaises with departments for forecasting student teacher eligibility, and supports the Director of OCE in all aspects of the office.
      • Master’s degree in Education or related field
      • Prior experience as a K-12 educator
      • Competency with basic Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.
      • Demonstrates continuous learning
      • Experience with conflict resolution
      • Experience teaching, mentoring, and/or supervising teacher candidates or teachers
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Experience working with diverse populations
      • Experience working with individuals or teams in a variety of roles (e.g. faculty, staff, students, teachers, and/or school leaders)
      • Doctoral degree in education or related field
      • Experience coordinating clinical experiences
      • Experience teaching in teacher preparation programs
      • Experience with coaching or mentoring in education
      • Experience designing and leading professional learning of teachers
      • Experience in higher education
      • Ability to delegate tasks
      • Experience with data collection, organization, analysis, and management
      • Experience creating or supporting P-20 student success initiatives

      The anticipated starting salary range is $53,000 - $65,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
