- Manages, oversees and reviews work for 2 Designer FTEs.
- Manages workflow, priorities, and multiple projects at once.
- Manages entries to competitions to enhance team recognition.
- Facilitates the onboarding process for new team members.
- Produces visual content for print, digital and other mediums.
- Supports brand positioning and strategy to elevate visibility and awareness of university.
- Works with a cross-functional University wide team to maximize the marketing and communication potential of the university web site and social media.
- Assists director in assigning creative services requests.
- Develops strategies that increase the visibility of the university in the wide range of print and electronic communication.
- Conceptualizes and oversees art directs photo shoots.
- Identifies technology upgrades for the Creative Services department.
- Collaborates with writers and editors on developing university publications.
- Meets with client and directors to define publication designs, sequences, specs, schedules, and determine audiences review process and ensure materials adhere to accepted brand guidelines.
- Oversees many projects simultaneously and meets established deadlines; determine availability of resources to meet requests for preparation and completion of printed matter efficiently and on schedule.
- Oversees and assigns work to freelance workers (currently 2 long-term freelance resources).
- Manages the development and production of design materials by student workers.
- Adhere to established content guidelines, style guides, and brand voice.

General Summary:
UMass Boston recently launched a new brand campaign with a fresh and modern creative and visual style. As we continue to build our brand story, we seek to continue to elevate our brand voice in all our marketing channels. UMass Boston is looking for an experienced designer to help improve the quality of our marketing materials and to help continue to build the brand campaign assets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing creative marketing materials and working collaboratively. Working alongside Director of Enrollment Marketing, the ADCS is a key stakeholder responsible for maintaining the visual image, brand identity and quality standards of the university creative. Work closely with the Director of Creative Services to lead integrated team of other designers, writers, editors, and photographer to produce print, publications, social media, digital design, logos, graphic designs, and interactive project materials to enhance the image of the university for Enrollment Management, 6 Academic Colleges, Student Affairs, Campus Services and Facilities - notably signage and wayfinding for the new Quad and other existing construction projects. Strongly relied upon to help director develop and implement strategic goals for the department. Owner of updating and creating processes/best practices to continue to keep the department effective and efficient in project delivery. Manages and directs photoshoots in partnership with photographers and marketing team. Contributes to a work environment that encourages collaboration and development of individual and team skills.

Qualifications:
BFA in graphic design required and 7-10 years of professional marketing, graphic design, and photography experience. Extensive knowledge of graphic design, photography and videography principles and practices Adobe Suite and the different software utilized in graphic design. Exceptional familiarity with typography, printing, production, photography, giphys, video and social media. Ability to produce large volume of high quality of work under tight time constraints while meeting deadlines. Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
