      This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Assistant Director of Student Conduct reports to the Director of Student Conduct within Student Affairs and is a team member of Student Conduct. The Assistant Director is primarily responsible for supporting the daily functioning of Student Conduct in serving as a Hearing Officer, advising branches of the student-led Honor System, and participating in education and programming initiatives designed to meet the needs of the student body and the larger University community. This position requires the exercise of sound discretion in the advising and training of students, faculty, and staff; the implementation of complex University policies; and the recording and collection of data and information concerning students used for reporting purposes at the University, state, and federal levels. This position encompasses a wide variety of crisis response and management, counseling, education, research, and supervisory duties in the areas of case and program management, outreach activities, training, and building relationships across the campus community. The position is charged with working as a part of a team that provides leadership and vision for the Honor System, as indicated in the Instrument of Student Judicial Governance and the University Alcohol Policy. Student Conduct is responsible for overseeing and advising the Honor System and adjudicating violations that fall within the purview of the University's alcohol policy. We oversee the administration of the student conduct process.
