- Graduate of a 2 year Optometric Technician Program
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Successful completion of optician apprenticeship and licensure may be substituted

Assistant Director, Optometry ClinicDepartment:
Optometry | AcademicsResponsible for management, staffing, and operational oversight of the Eyewear Gallery (EWG). Supervises staff, directs daily activities, assigns work tasks, allocates workload to staff, and administers performance management and annual reviews. Manages resources to ensure optimum workforce is allocated for comprehensive, efficient service to patients; Directs, supervises, and coordinates all teaching and patient care activities in the EWG. Responsible for intern schedules during EWG rotation, serves as instructor for Ophthalmic Optics lab and as an Instruction Optician for patient care in EWG; develops and implements integrated Ophthalmic Optics/Practice management lessons into EWG curriculum.
Oversees frame and lens recommendations, repairs, and adjustments for patients and performs these tasks as needed. Responsible for accurate data entry into Compulink system, reviews and evaluates reports to ensure proper procedure compliance. Organizes special event frame shows, including arranging the frame and lab representatives. Responsible for frame board management, including maintaining a regular, accurate inventory count. Works with the Associate Dean of Clinical Services to review financial reports and capture rate reports regularly for objective attainment, trend analysis and operational adjustments. Addresses patient feedback as necessary. Acts as liaison between Associate Dean for Clinical Services and Clinic Staff; Works closely with HR on personnel matters to ensure organizational effectiveness; Works closely with Business Manager and the Billing Office to ensure compliance with business requirements of the college; other duties as assigned.
