      Our Branch manages the planning, procurement, leasing and management of commercial and residential accommodation in Australia and overseas. This includes (but is not limited to) capital works, staff accommodation, airport and seaport leasing, operational properties, facilities management, spatial management, Business Continuity Management, Corporate and Facilities Program and Contract Management arrangements.


      As an EL1 in these teams you'll be required to facilitate the components of project delivery, such as procurement, design consultation and construction management of multiple projects simultaneously. You'll use your well-honed skills to provide effective contract management processes to ensure value for money is achieved in relation to contracts held by the Department, while maintaining oversight of the scope, schedule and budget of construction projects.       Duties and responsibilities

      • Administer phases of relevant project works, scope development, project delivery and close out.

      • Facilitate the processes to lead project delivery, including scope and design development, procurement, management of risks, budget, commissioning, handover and defect rectification of completed infrastructure projects.
      • Maintain controls across a multi-dimensional business area, including spatial management, project management, contract management, procurement and the change/communications disciplines.
      • Monitor progress against schedule, check quality throughout the delivery period, identify risks and communicate these risks to the relevant stakeholders. Ensure completed products are compliant with all statutory, government and end user requirements.
      • Facilitate specific project risk and issues management governance of Branch business, and communicate these risks to the relevant stakeholders as and when required.

      Additional information

      The Property Projects team and the Director for one of the vacancies are based in Canberra. While it is preferable that the successful candidate is Canberra based, applications will be considered from applicants in other regions.       Eligibility

      To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

      The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
