- Recruit successful volunteers for all campus programs
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with volunteers, both individual and institutional
- Develop and manage programs that deepen volunteer engagement and enhance their experiences
- Plan, manage, organize and attend volunteer events on Westchester campus. Responsible for logistics and on-site support of lunch-time, after-school, weekend and holiday programs, the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, and Tree Grows in Pleasantville Fundraiser
- Manage volunteer material to ensure timely and accurate information is captured and disseminated
- Maintain and update volunteer databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
- Oversee mentor program, ensuring successful relationships and communications
- Provide JCCCA presence at community events
- Insure JCCA Volunteer Program conforms to all New York State standards
- Other responsibilities, as assigned
- Bachelor Degree required, MSW, MPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience business or social services experience
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
- Outstanding relationship building and people skills, including written and oral communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to successfully interact with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences
- Fast Learner/adapts quickly to new tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Social Work, Counseling, Public Relations, Development or Event Management
Position Summary:
The volunteer department manages the activities of several hundred in-person campus volunteers. The Assistant Director is integral to the smooth, successful functioning of the activities and events, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department.
