      • Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity considerations.

      Who We Serve

      Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. We offer a full range of mental and behavioral health services, foster care and social services, housing, continuing adult education and early childhood education programs to Medi-Cal eligible individuals and families throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Stockton, Tulare and Ventura Counties.

      Under the general direction of the Education Director, the Assistant Education Director is responsible for the development and implementation of educational and pre-vocational training activities, academic advisement and counseling, and the career planning and pathing of individuals enrolled at the Recovery Education Institute (REI). The Assistant Education Director provides course instruction in pre-vocational skill development, paraprofessional/professional and personal growth, life skills, wellness, recovery, and student success. The Assistant Education Training Director assists with supervision and training of staff, administers and evaluates student learning outcome data, and provides administrative and management coverage of the REI during the Education Training Director’s absence.

      · Ensures all educational and pre-vocational training activities, and academic advisement/counseling components of the program are developed and implemented.

      · Ensures all staff provides a strength-based, recovery-focused, and student-centered approach in all training and academic advisement/counseling activities.

      · Provides educational workshops and skill development.

      · Assists Educational Director in the development of program policies and procedures.

      · Recruits, selects, hires and trains REI staff.

      · Actively involved in staff’s professional growth development and training.

      · Actively involved in student recruitment, community outreach, and program advocacy.

      · Develops effective working relationships with faculty members in instructional areas and perform community liaison activities as required.

      · Performs evaluations on students’ academic progress and educational/career goals with staff and faculty.

      · Ensures training program standards are met through ongoing supervision addressing barriers as they arise.

      · Collaborates and consults with community partners to ensure students’ needs are met.

      · Works with the training team to provide appropriate coordinated educational training services and career advisement/counseling to enrolled students.

      · Works with the training team to provide educational training services that are multi-culturally and linguistically responsive to the diverse student population served.

      · Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.

      · Attends all Agency meetings and in-service trainings as required.

      · Ensures the timely submission of all performance appraisals, new hire and termination paperwork and other employee status changes within the division including informing HR of employee leaves of absence, work-related injuries and employee incidents.

      · Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.

      · Models Pacific clinics’ approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.

      · Communicates effectively in a competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.

      · Performs other duties as assigned.

      Supervise employees and perform supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the Clinics’ policies, procedures and practices.

      Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, directing and appraising performance.

      Initiate and maintain professional interactions and communication with Clinics’ employees and/or others.

      Position works as part of a multidisciplinary team and interacts with all levels of organizational staff and management; outside auditors and/or Agency vendors.

      Leadership

      · Communication – Effectively and consistently communicates contract and compliance directives to staff. Encourages interactive discussions and maintains an open-door policy. Ensures that all staff within the program are properly educated and informed about matters relating to the Agency, program, and division.

      · Relationships and Attitude – Models professionalism by maintaining effective working relationships, following all policies and procedures and approaching challenges with a proactive and positive attitude. Also develops strong, trusted relationships with colleagues and customers.

      · Attendance –Models good attendance by adhering to their regular work schedule and at times working additional or varied hours to accommodate workflow.

      · Problem Solving – Ability to analyze problems and implement acceptable solutions.

      · Confidentiality - Maintains the confidentiality of all business documents and correspondence.

      · Staff Development - Identifies opportunities to cultivate leadership among all staff, including developing and enhancing mentoring and communications systems to coordinate the promotion of shared learning and best practices among managers.

      · Masters-Level in Business Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, and Health Sciences. California Licensed Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist preferred.

      · A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in mental health service delivery and administration; or four (4) years of experience in a human service field or equivalent experience. Minimum of two (2) years experience in areas such as supervision, program development, management, staff recruitment and evaluation, community outreach and advocacy. Minimum of at least one (1) year teaching experience within an academic institution, preferred.

      · Excellent verbal and written skills, with excellent grammar.

      • Demonstrated ability to work in Windows environment (including Word and Excel).

      · Possess a solid understanding of Wellness, Recovery, and Strength-based principles.

      · Possess a solid understanding of Community Collaboration principles.

      · Must demonstrate ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

      · Ability to communicate effectively promoting favorable interaction with key staff, coworkers and others .

      · Bi-lingual in English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean or, American Sign languages preferred.

      · Maintain a valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record under the Clinics’ automobile liability policy
