      Utah Valley University is seeking a part-time Assistant Event Manager! The Assistant Event Manager for the Center for Constitutional Studies (CCS)works closely with the CCS Events Manager and the CTLI Director planning and executing academic events. This involves meeting with staff members who are responsible for event content to determine objectives and parameters. Exercising considerable independent discretion, the CCS Coordinator develops initial concepts, translating implementable plans for the successful execution of events. This includes all programming, travel, and transportation arrangements, sponsor/doner management, recorded keeping, budgeting, and other event duties.
      • Plans and executes events including academic conferences and lectures, professional development actives, training for K-12 educators, and programs for K-12 students.
      • Manages relationships with CCS event stake holders, partners, and vendors both on and off campus. Serves as a point of contact for university services. Arranges and prepares event venues through the 25live platform. Directs on-site event set-up, execution, and takedown. Supervises part-time student employees that support events. Travels in-state, as needed.
      • Develops and implements event budgets and oversees events purchases and contracts.
      • Collaborates with CTLI and CCS employees on event invitation lists, RSVPs, and guest communications.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
      Combining of events-related work experience and college education totaling five (5) years.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      Two (2) years of professional event management experience and a bachelor's degree.Knowledge
      • Knowledge of event planning strategy and best practices, including marketing, productions, and assessment.
      • Knowledge and experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and volunteers.
      • Knowledge of social media, media, digital, and conventional marketing.
      Skills
      • Strong customer-service and people management related skills.
      • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
      • High attention to detail and keeping to budget.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
      Abilities
      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
      • Ability to collaborate and make positive contributions to a high functioning team environment.
      • Ability to manage sensitive information in a discreate and confidential matter.
      • Ability to occasionally work weekends and evenings and travel in and out of state when required.
      • Ability to maintain composure and excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
