      The DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego Bayside is hiring an Assistant Guest Services Manager whowill assist in overseeing our front office staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. We are seeking a customer-service oriented individual who is dedicated to representing the hotel with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a businesslike demeanor to all hotel guests and associates.

      Responsibilities of the Ideal Candidate:

      Works with Guest Services Manager to train, assign work and ensure performance of front office staff.
      Uphold friendly, courteous telephone service and interactions with guests and fellow employees.
      Has full understanding of software system and will coordinate with guests prior to arrival and through to their departure by means of reservations, wake up calls, check-in, check-out, routing needs, posting charges, and special requests.
      Preserve the security and privacy of guest rooms and administrative keys.
      Assists the Guest Service Manager by handling special requests, group blocking and unusual circumstances.
      Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions.
      Demonstrates a commitment to guest services in responding promptly to guest needs.
      Ensures all hotel staff, including new hires, know all components of guest services and are trained to meet standards.
      Meets or exceeds hotel guest satisfaction measures.
      Maintains reservations restrictions / rates
      Understand and enforces the hotel company credit policies. Accounts for all cash and makes deposits in accordance with hotel and company policies.
      Computes invoices, collects payment and makes change for guests. May post charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone by hand or machine.
      Verifies sell-out and near sell-out nights with reservations
      Communicates with Housekeeping to insure room availability and changes in house status; works to ensure that room assignments are made to provide the guest with the best possible experience
      Ensures smooth transition through shift changes and relays all pertinent information to relieving supervisor
      Owns a problem when challenged with one
      Handles difficult situations effectively
      May drive company vehicle to transport hotel guests to Airport and/or local attractions
      Other duties may be assigned as needed

      Physical Demands & Work Environment

      While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying 25 pounds. The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
