  Description

  We are looking for an Assistant Manager who can bring Amazon's customer obsession to life in a grocery environment. You will direct day-to-day store operations and lead a team of engaged grocery associates to deliver a one-of-a-kind shopping experience for customers. You will play a vital role in maintaining a vibrant store culture based on customer obsession, trust, respect, continuous learning, safety, and fun.

  Assistant Managers are experienced in leading large teams to deliver against standard operating procedures. They are natural leaders who are comfortable with change and always seek to improve operations. Demonstrating a strong work ethic, ownership, the ability to meet deadlines, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to customer and employee experience are essential.

  Key job responsibilities

  1. Act as the manager on duty, focusing on results and positive customer and employee experiences.
  2. Manage a team of associates, including setting expectations, managing performance, providing feedback, and supporting career development.
  3. Delegate effectively to drive results, execute SOPs, identify improvement areas, implement solutions, and provide ongoing feedback.
  4. Maintain a culture of engagement by listening to feedback and solving problems.
  5. Identify opportunities, analyze root causes, and support solutions to improve store performance and culture.
  6. Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for employees, customers, and products.
  7. Be comfortable working physically, capable of lifting up to 49 pounds and being on your feet for a shift.
  8. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

  Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or grocery, or 2+ years at Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE), or a Bachelor's degree.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of grocery industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Amazon Fresh Stores.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience using data to back up decisions and solve problems.
  • Proven success in team development and results delivery.
  • Passion for Amazon and customer satisfaction.
