Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
Introduction:
• To deliver customer insight through identifying and analysing data from multiple sources to improve our understanding of our customers, competitors and market place
• To support the onshore Coverage COO / Sales Management team with ad-hoc requests and provide recommendations towards in depth analysis on business improvement initiatives. (e.g. attrition, cost, Income, product penetration etc.)
• To support the agenda of UK&I Corporate Coverage leadership and strategic decision making for senior stakeholders like Managing Directors, Directors, Sx level, this includes periodic interactions and email exchanges on regular basis
What will you be doing?
Data Analysis
• Independently manage data analysis from critical banking systems like, TERADATA, BIW, Salesforce, Cognos Cube, FAME and create actionable intelligence meant for strategic decision making by senior stakeholders like Managing Directors, Directors, Sx level
• Deliver BAU and bespoke data analysis from agreed sources to inform and identify customer segments, wants and needs
• Ability to work independently and proactively on specific projectsGeneral Management
• Plan and organise work assignments.
• Review and report work status, with specific emphasis on achieving visibility of completed work and benefits arising.Teamwork
• Seek, share and embed best practice
• Establish and actively manage own personal development plan and seek to improve in areas of development through undertaking the necessary training, skills development and coaching
• Contribute to the development of a high-performance culture within Coverage Business Solution Team
What we’re looking for:
• Strong Knowledge of the Barclays data systems such as Branch Accounting, Customer, GTSA, AFTS, Bonds, etc.
• Relational database understanding and SQL interactive programming
• Strong Knowledge of the Barclays Information Warehouse
• Strong Knowledge of Salesforce.com and company house information such as OneSource, Fame and Orbis
• Report writing skillsSkills that will help you in the role:
• Preferably a Post Graduate, or MBA, or MBA equivalent
• Experience of using Excel, PowerPoint, SQL and working with large data sets
• Experience with scripting languages VBA, Python etc. and data visualization software – Tableau
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex data from multiple sources, using a variety of analytical techniques. Ability to drill down to identify trends, commonalities and exceptions in significant quantities of data
• Relevant experience of working in a financial services institution preferred
• Aptitude to work in a variable business environment, periodically requiring tight deadlines and aggressive turn-around times
• Once shown a technique, able to adapt the technique for related tasks. Instinctively wants to explore new data sources and discover more efficient processes
