      Assistant Principal- Interim

      Wenatchee High School

      1 Year ONLY (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026)

      GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Assist the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment to meet the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, facilitating, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, staff, and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff and collaborative teams; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents; and managing budget items, facilities and resources.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Driven Focus on Student Achievement - support staff in creating and attaining clear and measurable student achievement goals for all students. Support collaborative teams in creating goals, analyzing student data on a regular basis and determining the best ways to respond to each individual student to ensure growth. Monitor and track student behavioral data. Continuous Improvement of Instruction - support staff in their growth of instructional practice by providing regular feedback using the Marzano Instructional Framework. Assist in hiring, professional development, and clear consistent communication: listening, feedback, and encouragement for all staff. A Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum - support the district adopted curriculum, programs and assessments. Ensure the implementation of adopted standards and strategies. Collaborate with instructional coaches and district leadership. Cooperation and Collaboration - work with the principal to support teacher teams and individual staff: attend meetings, communicate electronically and maintain face-to-face interactions. Be willing to listen to staff, student parent and community input and work collaboratively with the building principal to make the best decisions for all stakeholders. Support teams in working together to ensure student safety, happiness, and growth. School Climate - maintain a safe environment. Communicate with staff, parents, district personnel, and the community in a timely and sensitive manner. Encourage staff and students through positive interactions and celebrations. Attend after school events, community events, and contribute to district initiatives. Organizational Management - Work with the principal and office staff for calendaring and communication. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a principal’s credential, valid in the state of Washington. Administrative experience preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable. Five or more years teaching experience required. High School teaching or administative experience preferred. Ability to work in a team environment that promotes integrity and continuous improvement for all. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
